Lincolnsoft would not exist without Lincoln. In fact, I'd say that most, if not all, of Lincolnsoft is due to inspiration by Abraham Lincoln alone. Lincolnsoft is entirely driven by Lincoln. He's what made me start it, and if anything, Lincolnsoft will succeed because of him. Obviously, this is why I named Lincolnsoft after him. Lincoln started life at the lowest rung of the ladder, but he ended it on the highest one. He started out in conditions comparable to that of a third world country. He had less than a year of formal education. Most of what he knew he taught himself. He had many failures, which often set him back quite a bit. However, in only 56 years, he became one of the most successful people ever. He was successful not in money, power, or fame, but in something far more important. He beat the odds. He changed America and the world. He saved freedom and democracy. He freed many millions of people, and countless future generations of people. He fought for equal rights and the rights of the oppressed. His words, beliefs, and advice are just as powerful today as they were over 130 years ago. He was a true hero.
The main purpose of Lincolnsoft is to promote this great man, and his vision for America and the world. In a world where there doesn't seem to be many heroes, and in a world where there's just too much corruption and too many injustices, and too many people who are admired simply for their money and power than for what they did, people like Lincoln need to be admired just as much, if not more. With all of the racism, hate, terrorism, and other injustices that are present in the world today, and all the money-grabbing and power-grabbing people and corporations that are in the world today, we need Lincoln now more than ever. Lincoln promotes world peace, success, democracy, freedom, equality, honesty, tolerance, and countless other virtues. The world would be a better place if we all admired Lincoln, and lived by his morals and ideals and his dream for America and the world. By making him the hero of a game, perhaps we'll get more people to see just how heroic Lincoln was, what Lincoln believed in, and how it relates to them, and just how important he is. Maybe more people will start to admire him. Maybe he'll become common in other areas of the media as well. The world would be a better place, if we all fought for our freedom and democracy (and realized just how precious it is), if we all respected each other, if we all treated each other equally, if we were all honest... These are things that Lincoln can teach us about, that not many other people can teach us about, and they're certainly not things that our current corrupt, money-grabbing, or power-hungry politicians or corporations can teach us about. I look at the world around me, and I see things like racism, hate, and inequity; monopolistic and greedy multinational corporations like Microsoft and AOL Time Warner exploiting consumers and trying to extract as much money from them as possible, or corporations like Nike that use sweatshop labor and exploit workers in third-world countries; corrupt or power-hungry politicians who don't serve the interests of their people; public school systems that don't work; the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11th, 2001; and many other injustices. I feel if Lincoln were alive today, that he'd feel disappointed about the current state of his nation and the world, and how we still haven't reached his dream for America or for the world.
We need Lincoln now more than ever. I believe that I am here for Lincoln to help his dream come true for America and the world. Through my admiration for Lincoln, I have become a much better person, and through that admiration, I'll only become better in the future. I'll become an example of just how much better Lincoln can make a person. More importantly, I'll show people just how important he really is, why we should believe in the things that he believed in, why we should admire him, and why we should work towards his dream for America and the world.
The reason why I'm doing this is for Lincoln. I'm sure Lincoln would be happy to know that he's inspired me to create Lincolnsoft.
